Faced with Gabon's dependence on fossil fuels, Brainforest launched a process in November 2025 to assess national energy policy, build capacity and share experiences — including a mission to Senegal.
On 9 July 2026, a workshop in Libreville brought together government, businesses, CSOs and communities to co-define a roadmap and establish the foundations of an advocacy committee.
Eight areas were addressed: governance, consultation framework, renewable energy, private investment, capacity building, just transition, financing mechanisms, monitoring and evaluation.
