Global objective of the project: To contribute, through community management and monitoring of forests, to the reduction of deforestation, better preservation of biodiversity, and improvement of living conditions for indigenous and local populations.
Objectives
- To this end, the project is structured around three main specific objectives:
- 1- Securing the rights of indigenous and local populations as well as strengthening their autonomy and resilience;
- 2- Combating forest crimes and threats to the rights of indigenous and local populations;
- 3- Strengthening the governance framework related to forests and community rights.
- The NGO Brainforest specifically works on the third objective. In the context of implementing activities related to this objective 3, it started the diagnosis of the forest governance framework related to community rights on October 2nd.
